Its Almost Cross-Country Season

September is less than two weeks away and with it comes the start of the Cross-Country season and the Great American Cross-Country Festival!

Registration is already open and we expect this year's event to be even bigger and better than its predecessors as, once again, it combines with the

American Independent School XC Challenge and the Robert Schumake Historically Black College & University Challenge.  All races return to the

challenging course through the woods at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, September 28-29.

The normal registration deadline is September 19th for all events (high school, university/college and open).

Get your entries in and come out and enjoy our unique and exciting cross-country event and festival.  As one of the season's earliest premier cross-country events, the GACC and AISXCC are excellent testing grounds for runners at both the collegiate and high school levels.

If you've already entered be sure to make your hotel reservations and get your tickets early to join us for a pre-race Pasta Dinner  on Friday, September 28th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Herbert Young Community Center.  Tickets may be purchased online as part of meet registration.

Fall Performance Camps- We started our Performance Camp Series in 2011 with the goal of identifying emerging elite javelin and triple jump talent and to provide them with the best technical and training methods available, so as to maximize their development into international level throwers and jumpers.

Our 2011 clinics surpassed our goals!  Two of our javelin participants made the World Junior team as did one of our triple jump athletes. And, we sponsored 6 athletes to training camp in Kuortane, Finland with sessions from Finnish national coach, Kari Ihalainen and t991 World Champion Kimmo Kinnunen. Read all about it in Jim Spier's blog.

Our 2012 clinics will begin this October with the javelin and triple jump with plans to expand the series to other technical events..

The first of the two Project Kultan Keihas (Javelin Gold) javelin training camps for 2012 will be held October 11-14, 2012 in Chapel Hill, NC. It is open to all interested coaches and athletes for observation and interaction with the coaching staff. Coaches and athletes will be encouraged to film, ask questions and generally be involved so they can gain maximum benefit from this event. Click here for further details about this first camp and the second camp planned for December and for registration.

The Performance Triple Jump Camp will be held November 21-25, 2012 in Nassau, The Bahamas. "Why the Bahamas?" you ask.  Bahamian, Peter Pratt, has carved a history of triple jump excellence there.  He is an IAAF Level V Diploma Elite Coach for Horizontal Jumps and has developed countless champion triple jumpers over the past two decades. When you want to be the best, you go to the best to learn!  As with the Javelin clinic, this experience is available to any athlete, parent or coach. Visit  Project Triple Jump  for registration, hotel and schedule information, and a full bio on Peter Pratt.
