2014 Tony Wells Grant recipients announced

by Steve Underwood

The National Scholastic Athletics Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the 2014 Tony Wells Team/Club Development Grant.  This year, 23 high school teams and track and field clubs from around the country will receive grants of various amounts for the development of their programs.

The grant was named after the legendary Colorado Flyers Head Coach, Tony Wells, who coached and poured his heart and soul into the Colorado Flyers Track Club for over 40 years.

His success was remarkable! His athletes have held national records in the 50y, 50m, 55m, 60m, 50y hurdles, 55m hurdles and the shot put, and an astonishing number have earned scholarships to college. Tony Wells died in July of 2012, but his legacy lives and breathes. To learn more about Coach Wells, please visit the links at the bottom of the page.
