A or 1 trains to 168th Street, then walk one block west to Fort Washington Ave.


Directions By Car

From Westchester County and Tappan Zee Bridge

Saw Mill Parkway South merges to Hudson River Parkway. After you go under the GW Bridge, take exit 14/15 to Riverside Drive south. Turn left at 165th Street. Go up hill and take first left on Fort Washington. Armory is on the right after the first traffic light.

From New England

I-95 south. As you approach the George Washington Bridge, get to the right as the highway splits. Take the 181st Street exit, the LAST exit before the bridge. Exit onto 181st Street and take a right at the light. Go up hill 3 blocks and take a right onto Fort Washington Avenue. Go 12 blocks. Tthe Armory is on the left at 168th Street.

From New Jersey and Points South

Take the New Jersey Turnpike North, following signs to the George Washington Bridge. As you near the bridge (after passing the Meadowlands), follow yellow signs that say "express" to Bridge. Take the upper level of the Bridge. Once at the bridge and past the $4.00 toll, get to the right lane and exit at 178th Street. Go through one light and make a right at the next light onto Broadway. Go 10 blocks south and make a right onto 168th Street. Go one block west to Fort Washington Avenue. The Armory entrance is at 168th and Fort Washington.

From Brooklyn and West Side Manhattan

Take the West Side Highway (Henry Hudson Parkway) north. Take Exit 15 to Riverside Drive, going south. Go to the 2nd light on Riverside and take a left onto 165th Street. Go up hill and take first left on Fort Washington. Armory is on the right after the first traffic light.

Parking

Street parking adjacent to the Armory is available and requires feeding a meter. Two good options are Riverside Drive just south of 165th Street or the parking lot at 165th Street and Fort Washington Avenue.

 

La Guardia Airport Public Transportation

M60 bus to 125th Street in Manhattan and to 116th and Broadway in front of the gates of Columbia University. Its first stop is in Astoria where you could also transfer to a subway.
$2.25 bus fare (available 4:50 a.m. - 1 a.m.). Transfer is available to 1/2/3, 4/5/6, A/C and D subway trains (free transfer with MetroCard, otherwise $2 additional).

You can also take the Q33 bus to Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights or 74th Street and Broadway in Jackson Heights Queens. If you get off the bus at Roosevelt Avenue, you can catch the E or F trains into Manhattan. If you get off the bus at 74th Street, you can catch the #7 train heading into Manhattan. This train stops at Times Square where you can transfer for free to another train to take you anywhere in the city. For a detailed subway map, visit the MTA's page.

From Marriott Courtyard La Guardia to Armory via public transportation
Walk 3 blocks from Marriott Courtyard La Guardia Courtyard to 85th Street and 23rd Avenue. Go three stops to the Jackson Heights 74th Street bus terminal/subway station (about 20 minutes, last stop).

Take the E train from Roosevelt Av - Jackson Heights station heading Downtown / to World Trade Center

Get off at 42nd Street

The trip takes about 30 minutes. Trains depart every half hour or so, twenty four hours per day except for between 2:15am and 4:15am.

The Hotel New Yorker is on 8th Avenue and 34th Street, right across from Penn Station.

The West Side YMCA is on the 8th Avenue Subway line which is accessible from Penn Station.

The Armory is also on the 8th Avenue Subway line, accessible from Penn Station.

 

NJ Hotels to Armory

NYC Airports Shuttles

Travel from NYC Airports to Manhattan

New York Airport Service has shuttles from all NY airports to Manhattan. The Hotel New Yorker is near Penn Station on their route. They could also probably drop off near a hotel close to the West Side YMCA

There are other shuttle services as well, which you might inquire about at the Ground Transportation area in the airports.

Taxis from La Guardia airport to midtown Manhattan range from $30-$40.
