2021 NIKE XC TOWN TWILIGHT
MEET INFORMATION

Cross Country Town USA, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Terre Haute South Vigo High School are excited for the opportunity to host the 2021 Nike XC Town Twilight, Presented by the Garrett Companies

NEW UPDATES (10/1)

Join us for an exciting night of races at the famous LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.  The boys and girls Midwest Race of Champions, both Presented by Nike, will take place after sunset “under the lights!”

This championship meet is aimed to bring together the best high school cross country teams in the Midwest.  Athletes of all levels within your program will have a chance to compete.  Music, fun and fireworks will conclude the evening’s festivities.
**Our event will be NFHS sanctioned.**

What High Schools can compete?

Any schools within 300 miles of the Indiana state border.
Per the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) By-Laws, Rule 10 (page 41 of the IHSAA By-Laws), only those schools within 300 miles of the Indiana border may compete against Indiana schools. That includes most of the schools in the five NXR Midwest Region states, including Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, the Lower Peninsula of Michigan and eastern Missouri. This is an NXR Midwest Pre-Regional event. Schools from most of Kentucky and portions of other neighboring states within 300 miles of Indiana are also eligible to enter and compete.

Entry Fees:

$125.00 per team of 7(JV/Open/ROC)
$195.00 bulk fee per school
$25.00 per individual athlete

** Entry fees can be made via credit card on AthleticNET or check can be mailed ahead of time to:

Entry Deadline:

The registration deadline is Tuesday, September 28th at 6:00pm ET.

  • 6:30pm - MIDWEST GIRLS JV Race
  • 7:00pm - MIDWEST BOYS JV Race
  • 7:30pm - MIDWEST GIRLS OPEN Race
  • 7:35pm - Sunset
  • 8:00pm - MIDWEST BOYS OPEN Race
  • 8:30pm - MIDWEST GIRLS RACE OF CHAMPIONS*
  • 9:00pm - MIDWEST BOYS RACE OF CHAMPIONS*
  • 9:45pm - Awards & Fireworks

* 10 athletes per team & select individuals
 

AWARDS

JV Races
Trophy to team champion in each JV section
Top finisher tees to top 5 individuals in each section

Open Race
Trophy to team champion in each Open section
Top finisher tees to top 5 individuals in each section

Race of Champions
Trophy to top team champions and runner-up in each ROC section
Top finisher tees to top 10 individuals in each section


Which race should I register for:

Teams will register using their school affiliation. The JV and open sections will be open for registration at the coaches’ discretion. The Midwest Race of Champions will be limited to the top 30 teams that enter in each race. Any teams that do not make the ROC field will be placed in the Open section.


Packet Pick-up:

Course opens at 2:30pm for packet pick up and course run-thrus
*ALL PACKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON SITE AT LAVERN GIBSON-in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. 


Retail Sales:

Nike apparel will be for sale beginning at 5pm on race day.


Bib Number/Timing Chip: 

Shoe chips will be used.  Each athlete will be assigned two shoe chips that match their bib number.  Athletes must wear assign bib number and chips.  Chips will be collected in the finish line area.


Box Assignments: 

Box number assignments will be included in the packets and will be available at check in. They will also be available at NationalScholastic.org.


Results:

Results will be available on RunnerSpace.com, AthleticNET and NationalScholastic.org


Spectator Admission:

$5 per person, children under 10 are free.


Water, Food, Beverage:

Bottles of Gatorade and water will be available to athletes on site.


Lost and Found:

Any lost and found items can be picked up at the packet pick up area in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. (Same location as packet pick up and awards pick up.)
