NSAF Entry and Seeding Rules

At NSAF we believe in ensuring that every entry is fairly evaluated for acceptance and for seeding purposes. Over the years we have developed rules and procedures that help us to achieve this goal. Listed below are those specific rules, but first some broader points.

Entrants often attempt to gain acceptance with a mark that does not meet the guideline. They try to make a case by pointing out that at previous Nationals competitors in their event did not meet the entry guideline at the meet. While performances at prior New Balance Nationals may not have met guidelines in the meet itself, all entrants met entry requirements before the meet. Declaring that an athlete has better marks than competitors in previous meets will not result in acceptance in the meet. Not every athlete has a career day at the nationals.

A word about the guidelines found here: https://www.nationalscholastic.org/index.php/nbin/guidelines/ We call them guidelines rather than standards because we do make allowances for reasonably small variances. That determination is made at the sole discretion of the Seeding Committee.

Please note: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR ENTRIES THAT ARE NOT ACCEPTED. If you are unsure if you qualify, either enter and do not pay or send an e mail to info@nationalscholastic.org. We will usually respond to you within 24 – 48 hours.

The Seeding Committee may make exceptions to these rules where justified. Athletes and coaches should be guided by the specific event entry guidelines that are listed here: https://www.nationalscholastic.org/index.php/nbin/guidelines/
