Admission

How much is admission?

Admission is ... FREE.   Parking is $5.00 (free to competing teams and individuals).

Coaches Passes

Do coaches who are accompanying entered athletes receive coaches passes?

No. Admission is free for everyone, and coaches will not need passes.

Course Practice Times

Will athletes be able to run the course prior to the Races?

Yes. The course will be open for practice Friday, October 10, 2008 until 3pm.

Deadlines

September 1 - High School Entries (normal deadline)

September 21 - High School Entries closed (late entry deadline)

September 26 - Collegiate Entries normal deadline

Payment deadline. All payments MUST be received on or before September 21. Teams failing to pay entry fees by the due date may be dropped from the festival and replaced by other teams.

October 3 -

  • Roster Submission Deadline. All team rosters MUST be updated by this time. Teams failing to update rosters by the deadline date may be dropped from the festival and replaced by other teams.
  • Collegiate Entries closed (late entry deadline)

October 7

  • Community Fun Run deadline.

Logging into the website

How do I login to the website?

To login to the website, visit (http://nationalscholastic.org/greatamerican/). Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your username and password.

Packet Pickup

When and where is Packet Pickup (Registration)?

On Friday, October 10, 2008 at Hoover Public Safety Building from 2:00pm until 7:30pm and at Spain Park on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 6:30am until 2:00pm.

Parking

How much is parking?

Parking at the Spain Park Sports Complex is $5.00 per car for non-competitors. Parking passes for teams and registered individuals will be in packets at Packet Pickup. Parking passes will be available for purchase at Registration and at the entry to SAS Park each day.

Passwords

My password isn't working, how can I login to the system to view my team's status?

If you have misplaced or forgotten your password, you may request that your password be e-mailed to you by visiting the website (http://nationalscholastic.org/greatamerican) and clicking on "I Forgot my Password", which is located near the bottom of the page.

Sanctioning

Is the event sanctioned?

The high school portion of the event is sanctioned by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFSHSAA). Certain states, due to various rules, do not sanction the event and schools from those states will not be participating. To see the list of states for whom the Great American Cross Country Festival is sanctioned, go to their web site (http://www.nfhs.org/) and follow the links to sanctioned events. For the open and collegiate portion, the meet is sanctioned by USATF.

Seeding

When will I find out which race I am in?

Seeding takes place by mid-September and all races will be posted online soon thereafter.

Special Events

How do I get tickets to the Harrier Ball?

They are available for purchase on line as part of the registration process. Those who have purchased Harrier Ball tickets in this manner will receive them in their packet at Packet Pickup. Others may be able to purchase them during Registration on October 10, 2008 or on Saturday, October 11 as long as the tickets do not run out (and at Concessions at Spain Park during the event on Saturday, October 11 as long as there are tickets available.) The Harrier Ball will take place from 7:00pm to 11:00pm on Saturday, October 11, 2008.

Is dinner included with the purchase of the Harrier Ball tickets?

Yes. The purchase of the tickets entitles the ticket holder to dinner as well as the dance.

Will there be transportation to the Harrier Ball?

No. Due to underutilization, there will no longer be transportation to the Harrier Ball.

Shuttles

Is there a shuttle bus service?

Due to almost non-existent use, there will no longer be a shuttle bus service to the meet.

Updating Team Rosters

How do I update my team's roster?

Coaches may update their rosters at anytime until October 3 at 11:00am by logging into the Great American website (http://nationalscholastic.org/greatamerican/). Once you are logged in, you may click on "Edit Runner Information" to change or update runner names.
