Caribbean Scholastic Invitational
The Caribbean Scholastic Invitational (CSI) began in 2006. It is a collaborative effort between the NSSF and the athletics federation of Puerto Rico.
Each year a team is selected of underclass athletes from the U.S. and competes against others from the Caribbean. For most of the U.S. athletes it is the first time competing internationally. That experience is meant to “break the ice” for when these athletes compete for the U.S. on other international teams.
Athletes who have competed include NCAA champions Bianca Knight, Jessica Beard, Johnny Dutch and US high school record holders Wayne Davis and Avione Allgood.
The NSSF is indebted to the City of Carolina, PR and to the leadership of Victor Lopez.
