SEVEN Meet Records and/or U.S. leaders!

  • =US#1 (=#4 all-time) and meet record 53-8.25 girls’ shot put by Stamatia Scarvelis (Dos Pueblos, CA senior), overcoming US#3 (#10 all-time) and meet record (earlier throw) 52-3.5 by Ashlie Blake (Liberty, NV senior).  Old meet record: 51-5.75 by Collinous Newsome in 1994.
  • US#1 23.77 200 and US#9 7.50 60 girls’ dash double by Gabriella Cantrell (San Leandro, CA senior), defending her 2013 title in the 200 and moving up from 5th last year in the 60.  2nd in the 200 went to Madeline Price (Menlo School, CA senior) with US#6 24.47 as five broke 25, while a very tight 60 finish saw World Youth 100 champ Ky Westbrook (Chandler, AZ senior) and CATC’s Destiny Smith-Barnett (Oakland Skyline, CA junior) tie at 2nd in 7.52 and Speed Denver’s Chyna Ries (Denver East, CO senior) at 7.53 in 4th.
  • US#1 and meet record 4:10.22 1,600 by Ricky Faure (Rock Springs, WY senior), defending his 2013 title and topping US#5 4:12.99 by Andrew Brewer (Bingham, UT senior).  Old meet record: 4:10.58 by Luke Puskedra in 2008.
  • US#2 (#1 amateur) and meet record 4:46.97 1,600 by Sarah Feeny (Ogden, UT senior), defending her 2013 title and dominating by nearly 12 seconds over YMCA Team Idaho’s Sam McKinnon (Mtn View, ID senior).  Old meet record: 4:51.65 by Alicia Craig in 2000.
  • US#1 9:01.13 boys’ 3,200 by NiteMoves TC’s Cerake Geberkidane (Denver East, CO senior) – just off the 9:00.62 meet record (Ben Saarel, 2013) – pulling away from Indian Track’s Elijah Armstrong (Pocatello, ID junior) 9:10.93 and Conner Mantz (Sky View, UT junior) 9:12.99.
  • US#1 54.69 girls’ 400 by Madeline Price (Menlo School, CA senior), coming 30 minutes after a 2nd-place 24.47 in the 200, and defeating Trojan Track’s Elsja Mecham (Rigby, ID soph) US#6 55.94.

  • 8.20 girls’ 60 hurdles by FK Elite’s Dior Hall (George Washington, CO senior), just .02 off her US#1 and .04 off the meet and national record (8.16 by Jackie Coward in 2008).  2nd place to CATC’s KaRa Awakoaiye (Bishop O’Dowd, CA soph) 8.67.
  • 20-3 girls’ long jump by Speed Denver’s Chyna Ries (Denver East, CO senior), just off the meet record (20-5 by Brittany Daniels in 2005) and her own US#2 20-5.75.  She came within .03 off a LJ/60 double and won by more than a foot over YMCA Team Idaho’s Cambree Harbaugh (Mtn View, ID senior) US#8 19-2.25.
  • US#2 59-0 girls’ weight throw by Team Pueblo’s Haley Showalter (Valor Christian, CO junior) ahead of US#4 and national sophomore class record 58-8.75 by Throw 1 Deep’s Kamryn Brinson (Marist, GA soph).
  • US#2 24-1.25 boys long jump by Core Speed’s Adoree’ Jackson (Serra Gardena, CA senior), nipping eventual TJ winner Nate Moore (Castro Valley, CA senior) US#3 23-11.75.
  • US#3 3:20.37 boys’ 4x400 by Riverton UT (HS), anchored by 400 runner-up Michael Bluth, with Mountain West Youth TC 3:21.60 and Flying Jaguars 3:21.93 also under 3:22.
  • 4:04.61 girls’ 1,600 sprint medley relay by Ft. Collins TC, topping US#3 4:08.81 by ISC International Empire Athletics (Pleasant Hill HS, San Jose, CA).
  • 74-2.25 boys’ weight throw by current US#2 Daniel Haugh (Throw 1 Deep/St. Pius X, GA senior), beating US#4 69-7 by Brock Eager (Tahoma, WA senior)
  • US#5 10:34.03 girls’ 3,200 by Makena Morley (Bigfork, MT junior), winning by more than 40 seconds and missing the meet record by less than two seconds (10:32.41 by Emily Kroshus in 2000).
  • US#5 8.00 boys’ 60 hurdles by Blazin Bruins’ Bayron Manuel (Long Beach Wilson, CA), with EOYDC’s Javion Robinson 8.17 (St. Mary’s, CA senior) outleaning New Image Track Club’s Justin Collins (Carson, CA junior) 8.18 for 2nd.
  • US#5 39-9 girls’ triple jump by Cardinal Track’s Marisa Kwiatkowski (Santa Clara Wilcox, CA senior), nipping Flying AJ’s (and Project Triple Jump’s) Chinne Okoronkwo (Mountlake Terrace, WA soph) US#6 39-8.25

  • US#6 2:13.24 girls’ 800 by Carly Smiedala (Helena, MT soph), just ahead of Taylor Cox (Davis, UT senior) US#9 2:13.74.
  • US#7 48-3 boys’ triple jump by Nate Moore (Castro Valley, CA senior), winning by more than two feet after a runner-up finish in the long jump.
  • US#9 48.91 boys’ 400 by Ric Rojas Running’s Kevin McClanahan (Erie, CO senior), prevailing in a torrid stretch run against Michael Bluth (Riverton, UT senior) 48.98 and Blazin Bruins’ Kemonie Briggs (Long Beach Wilson, CA junior) 49.08.
  • 1:40.46 girls’ 4x200 by Ft. Collins TC, with Academy of Speed 1:41.10 edging EOYDC 1:41.26 and MHS Wildcats 1:41.29 for 2nd.
  • 3:54.02 girls’ 4x400 relay by Academy of Speed, beating US#6 3:54.81 by ISC International Empire Athletics (Pleasant Hill HS, San Jose, CA).
  • 1:29.55 boys’ 4x200 relay by Pure Speed TC, with MHS Wildcats 1:30.08 not far behind.
  • 3:35.67 boys’ 1,600 sprint medley relay by New Image Training Group, ahead of 3:37.09 by Fort Collins TC.
  • 6.86 boys’ 60 dash by MHS Wildcats’ Cravon Gillespie (Monrovia, CA senior), with Pure Speed teammates (eventual 200 champ) Jai’Shawn Thompson (Fountain-Ft. Carson, CO senior) 2nd with 6.90 and Kossi Tchenawou (Grandview, CO senior) 3rd with 6.96.
  • 1:54.87 boys’ 800 by Isaac Penner, nipping Angel Flight’s Zach Petrie 1:55.10.  YMCA Team Idaho’s Jordan Wallin in 3rd with 1:55.76.
  • 22.01 boys’ 200 by Pure Speed’s Jai’Shawn Thompson (Fountain-Ft. Carson, CO senior), nipping club teammate Brandon Singleton 22.04 (Cherokee Trail, CO senior).
  • 58-11 boys’ shot put by Garrett Lynch (Cody, WY senior), ahead of Andre James (Herriman, UT junior) 57-7.25 and weight throw winner Daniel Haugh (Throw 1 Deep/St. Pius X, GA senior0 56-2.25
  • 14-6 boys’ pole vault by YMCA Team Idaho’s Alex Lawrence (Kuna, ID senior), edging Team Pueblo’s Nicholas Meihaus (Pueblo South, CO senior) on misses (cleared same height)
  • 12-3 girls’ pole vault by Stephanie Bess (Arvada West, CO senior), topping 11-9 by Christina Stathakis (Castle View, CO junior)
  • 8:06.04 boys’ 4x800 by Davis Track Club, winning by more than five seconds.
  • 9:47.23 girls’ 4x800 by MAC Track, defeating 9:49.55 by Ric Rojas Running.
  • 6-7 boys’ high jump by Dan Bruton (Madison, Rexburg, ID), beating two others at 6-7 on misses.
  • 5-6 girls’ high jump by Britten Duerden (Morgan, UT junior), winning by misses over three others who cleared the same height
  • 1:48.77 girls’ All-Idaho 4x200 by YMCA Team Idaho ‘B’, winning by about three seconds
  • 1:34.81 boys’ All-Idaho 4x200 by YMCA Team Idaho ‘B’, topping the club’s ‘C’ team at 1:36.17.
