SOUTH DAKOTA

NXN Heartland Regional, Nov. 10, Yankton Trails Park, Sioux Falls, 5k

  • Minnesota schools took all four team qualifying spots and, with relatively mild November and dry course conditions lending an assist, all four course records (both team and individual) were smashed.
  • The HL#1/US#6/#5 Wayzata MN girls were without their #1 Anna French (injury) and still won by 72 pts, tallying 118.  It’s their 2nd straight trip to Portland.  Runner-up HL#3 East Ridge MN, also 2nd behind Wayzata at AA state, scored 190 and made their 1st NXN Final.  A tight battle for 3rd and 4th saw Willmar MN 253, Dowling Catholic IA 261, Eden Prairie MN 262, and Arrowhead WI 271 taking the next four spots.
