Kyra Jefferson (Cass Tech, Detroit, MI) was a "no show". She strained a hamstring in practice earlier this week. A big disappointment for her but, she showed her team spirit by coming out and cheering on her teammate. She's pictured here with Coach Lisa Morgan, Trinity Wilson and Ronald Darby.

Bealoved Brown (Ozen, Beaumont, TX) had no trouble advancing to the semis, winning her heat in 24.30.

Briana Nerud (North Shore, Glen Head, NY) sat back for two-thirds of the race and began to move well with 2 laps to go. Picking off her competitors one by one, she moved into third on the final backstretch. The final water jump gave her trouble and she moved into fifth, then being caught near the finish down the homestretch for sixth. We'll see if she can get a time qualifier. And, she did.

Maddie Meyers ran a beautiful race, staying in second for most of the race and finishing in that position in 6:34.80. Briana Nerud will be one of the time qualifiers.
